The Oscars aren’t the only mostly white awards show

For the second year in a row, the Oscars failed to nominate a single person of color in their acting categories. Many have pointed out that this is a symptom of a larger issue of diversity in Hollywood — and they’re right. Look at two other, seemingly more progressive award shows and you’ll find the same problems.

Being the Free Black Thinker that I am, I did some digging on the Oscars winnings.
In the last 20 years:
15% of Best Leading Actors were black. [1]
10% of Best Supporting Actors were black.[2]
5% of Best Leading Actresses were black.[3]
20% of Best Supporting actresses were black.[4]

When you count an average percentage (15+10+5+20) you get the sum of 50/4 = 12.5%. (Link to a few percentage calculators will be below for those of you that are bad with math)

According to the US Census Bureau Data 2014, blacks are around 13.2% of the current population. In 1990 it was 12.1%. In 2000 it was 12.3%. In 2010 it was 12.6%. [5][6][7]

Guess what this means!!! Blacks are actually almost perfectly represented at the Oscars! But wait, that cant be because Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike said othwrwise! But yall just go back to making us look stupid because you get all emotional without fact checking anything. Let the news and social media decide when you get upset, then try and make people believe you aren’t dumb.

The big problem with most of you is that you cant make up your minds. You claim you don’t need the approval of “white people” and then you beg and whine for acceptance and approval. If you have your pride, what does it matter who accepts you and who doesn’t?

“If we truly have pride in who we are as African Americans, we should not need inclusion or acknowledgement from institutions or events that we claim would go out of their way to reward whites over blacks. Instead of having this mindset, blacks are upset because there has not been a proper amount of black Oscar nominations. I find irony in the fact that black folks want to disown folks like Stacey Dash because they are on the opposite end of this silly argument. I don’t understand how she can be considered a less-than-black person, yet one can be seen as an authentic black person even if they are begging to be accepted and included in affairs that they claim cater more to whites.” - Eric July

For more on that topic, see Eric July’s article in The Libertarian Republic.[8]

Final Thoughts:
1. Stop being so quick to jump on whatever is trending without having done any research on it. Most of the time you end up looking stupid.
2. Stop begging for acceptance by those who (at least in your mind) hate you. You look pathetic and convoluted.
3. If they’re racist and dont want you there, why would you want to be there? Go start your own and make it available to people of all colors. If youre going to go make yours mutually exclusive based on race, you cant complain about #OscarsSoWhite. It would be the height of hypocrisy.

I like what ice cube said. Bitching cause you didn’t get one award while you got a bunch of others is childish.

“Free Black Thinker” isn’t exactly… a very good term…
